Heart Shaped Umbrella

01 May

It’s fast approaching the summer, so hopefully the rain will be a thing of the past for a few months. The realists, cynical as they are, here in the Ooer office know that’s not likely to be true though.

This umbrella is ideal for keeping dry in the English weather. It’s well made, from a brilliant designer, and it’s available in a range of funky colours. More than that though, it’s heart shape. How brilliant is that?

Crywolf Sweet Tooth Buttons

28 Apr

This takes us back a bit. Buttons! Badges to those of us in the UK. We wore loads of them when we were kids.

These button badges from Canadian indie retailer Crywolf are very sweet. Literally. They’re cute representations of sweets and lollies. To pick out and highlight a corner of your outfit they perfect. They’ll look great on a satchel too. We love the cupcake.

Gold Bead and Pearl Bracelet

19 Apr

We’re back! Did you miss us? We had a lovely day off in front of the telly. We wanted to go out and go exciting things but it was raining and miserable so we hit the sofa and watched utter rubbish while drinking lemonade and eating chocolate. All in all, not a bad way to spend a Sunday. We hope yours was as good.

We’re kicking off Monday with a gorgeous bracelet from Ernest Jones. It’s pearl and gold, quite sophisticated and snazzy, and it’ll look fab on your arm with a beautiful sleeveless summery dress. Pearly white accessories against a golden tan set your skin off amazingly well.

Kahuna Leather Strap Watch

13 Apr

At Ooer we’re quite often late for things. It’s not our fault. It’s the world. More accurately, it’s the internet. It distracts us from the things we’re meant to be doing, like going to work and phoning people and eating lunch. It’s a problem. We’re looking for a way to sort it out.

If you’re like us one of the reasons you’re late for things is because you’re constantly clueless about what the time is. It’s a hassle to fish out your phone just to see how late you are. We think that this Kahuna watch is a good fix though. It’s pretty flower motif strap that continues on the watch face is nice enough to persuade us that we might be able to wear a watch every day. Or at least every day when a brown watch would pleasantly accessorise what we’ve chosen to wear. We’ll be late for things less that way.

Maybe.

Keep Calm And Carry On Shopping Bag

27 Mar

The “Keep Calm and Carry On” World War II poster has been knocking around for a while now, it’s rather fun and amusing. We’ve found a bag that tweaks it just a little and makes it a whole lot better.

“Keep Calm and Carry On Shopping” is an idea by Catherine Colebrook. It’s fab. It’s such incredibly good advice. Emblazoned on a cotton or canvas shopping bag with usefully long handles and plenty of space, and in an attractive range of colours, it’s the shopping bag to be seen with right now.

Radley Alcester Handbag

23 Mar

At Ooer we love to find things that are pretty awesome, and cute, and functional. We scour the internet looking for things that are just a little bit better than the norm, things that show the designer has put a little more thought in and included some flourish or other that really sets their work apart from the rest.

Radley London’s “Alcester” handbag is a marvelous example of that ethos. It’s a functional bag, with plenty of space divided in to all the compartments and pockets we need these days. But on top of that there are some fabulous touches that we appreciate; there’s the unusual wave design to the top, the cute ‘dog tag’ label, and a lovely flower corsage. Without those things it’d still be a great bag, but with them it’s just a little more.

Nixon The Vega Watch

22 Mar

Have you noticed how fewer and fewer people wear watches these days because we can all tell the time with our phones? It’s so sad. Watches are a great accessory for showing off your taste and style. A good watch speaks volumes.

Nixon having been making cool and trendy watches for ages. They’ve tapped into a rich vein of laid surfergirl chic and brought the entire mindset to the masses. Through the medium of time telling. Yes. The Vega is a swish black number with a simple face that’s smart as well as readable, and looks like a funky bracelet on the right arm. That’s the correct arm, not the right arm. You can wear it on any arm.
